Tying the knot in the picturesque St Kilda Gardens surrounded by roses and those classic wedding greens. Alexia and Adrian opted for a modern spin on a traditional wedding day celebration. From timeless moments with a deeply connected family, to unplanned burgers and fries at the local Macca's... this was a wedding that felt authentically theirs.

With a rich Italian background, Alexia (Lex) & Adrian both have incredibly tight bonds with their families. The moments shared with one another during their pre's were truly special. It was humbling to be a part of those intimate moments, and to capture them organically as they happened.

The hidden moments...

...in the quiet places.

It is always a humbling experience when a father see's his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. Tears in an otherwise stoic father, just hit harder on a wedding day. Matt is a father to his beautiful daughter Sophie, who one day will find herself walking down the aisle toward a handsome husband. Matt can attest to how big a day that is to think about. Being a father, raising a daughter to become an exceptional women finding an equally exceptional man, leaves a man with a feeling that can't be described with words. This moment with Lex's dad was powerful.

I have talked a lot about how close these two were with their families, but a special mention needs to be made to their bridal party. The love this group has for one another, and for Lex & Adrian is as thick as blood. Adrian is truly surrounded by strong, good charactered men. Lex is loved and cared for by an amazing group of women. That was evident moments before the much anticipated walk down the aisle. And what a walk it was!

The St Kilda gardens was a perfect spot to kick into some portraits. Lex & Adrian opted for a longer portrait session with their phenomenal bridal party. The portrait section of your day is not something that needs to be 2 hours long. Our approach is to tell your story... if portraits is something that is lower on your priority list we can get them done in 10 mins. Alternatively, we can spend hours together. It's your story for us to tell. Yes! We did go to Macca's and order burger and fries and no... that was not planned & neither was the tram ride! hahah
Entering Encore in St Kilda to kick off what was rumoured to be a "wild dance floor." Encore was the perfect space for this 120+ wedding reception. Kicking off with speeches first dances, and a little taste of the celebrations to come.

The aisle walk was something out of a fairytale. With mum and dad on either side, and a guard of roses interlaced with loved ones, and close friends. The loving tension in the air was breath taking. Enough to bring Adrian to tears knowing from this day on Lex would be his wife.

Something we focus on is story telling & real life moments. Your guests reactions are not something you will see during your ceremony & reception. To look through your gallery and see how truly happy your guests are for you... now that is something that brings joyous tears to the eye. The hand over of the rings was entrusted to both mums. It gives me shivers thinking about this moment. There really is nothing quite like the love a mother has for her child. As the weight of anxiety (excitement that doesn't know it's excitement yet) falls off the shoulders a little quiet moment with the Nonnas away from the guests. Quiet moments signed into the memories. The reactions after the conclusion of a ceremony is something often rushed through. Our approach to weddings is as documentative is we can possibly make it. We don't want to change the moments in your day unless we adding to them. There is always plenty of time to get group shots and portraits. Please allow the time for your guests to express their love for you... you won't regret letting those moments happen.

"These guys were the best thing about my wedding (close second to marrying the love of my life). They were by far the best decision I made. Matty and Jacques are talented, confident and a calming presence in the whirlwind that is your wedding day. They don’t miss a beat, an emotion or a moment. Looking back through the photos, I am in tears with all they captured. 10000% recommend."

"We could not have asked for a better team on our special day. From our first meeting, to our wedding day, to the months afterwards, Matty & Jacques went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The banter, laughs and support they offered led to an amazing wedding album that we will cherish forever. We made plenty of inquiries with other photographers but instantly knew Matt x Jacques were the one. Reach out and you will know why!"
